Hungry men prefer plump women: Why the Hubby will be eating salad

Did you know hungry men prefer heavier women? That’s great news for me, since thanks to Thanksgiving, the 10 extra pounds I gained in Buenos Aires are still hanging around. So until I lose the weight, I have a new strategy so that my spouse won’t notice – or at least won’t care: I’m cutting back on his rations.
At least two scientific studies show that hungry men prefer fatter women. So if I keep The Hubby hungry, maybe my love handles will look lovely. There’s a hidden benefit here for me, too. If Hubby’s hungry (salad for lunch and dinner), most likely I’ll be a bit underfed as well. Dunno how long it will take, but common sense says the pounds should start to peel off.
But back to the research, published in the Journal of Social, Evolutionary and Cultural Psychology, confirming and expanding on two previous papers: a 2005 study that concluded heavier women are preferred in cultures with scarce resources, and a 2006 British study that found hunger influences judgments of female physical attractiveness.
All of this research is compiled, analyzed and linked in an article from Miller-McCune magazine, (Click here to check it out!) But the bottom line is this:
The hungry men aren’t attracted to a woman’s stored fat itself but rather to what the fat implies – that the woman is more mature and nurturing. So the studies also indicate that if a man is hungry, he also wants a woman who is older.
Hip-hip-hooray. This research is starting to sound like a win-win. So sorry, Dear Hubby. No food for you!

From Mark, via Facebook: I've been on a seefood diet most of my life, everything I see I eat, except when I went to the Rice Diet in Raleigh NC. There is nothing to study about plumpness, plump plus plump equals lots of food and no leftovers. I love salads, Caesar, antipasta, chicken, tuna (with extra Hellmans mayo) cobb, beef. My least favorite is fruit salad.

Hungry men prefer full-figured women, a new British psychology study has found -- but only until they have a good meal. Then they start looking for a slimmer date.
