I've read his travel books cover to cover, and feel like I have come to know Rick Steves like a friend. This laughing, smiling gentle giant of a man has taken me through Europe on his PBS shows many a Sunday. So Imagine my surprise, when I ran into him trying to get into the Fireman's Ball in the 6th Arr. last night. He was not so happy, smiling, then. Seems like the firemen didn't want to let him and his cameras in.....That's him, the large blonde man looking a little pee-oh'd. Oh, by the way, he was carrying his signature little green backpack with him.

I purchased Cheap Fast Good, and received it last week. I started cooking from the book last Wednesday. With the exception of the ham I purchased for Christmas Day, I have cooked from this book 1-2 times per day. Let me say, this is the best cookbook I have, and has recipes that my family loves!!! Thank you so much for the cookbook. I'm hoping I can purchase Desperation Dinners soon, and if it is anything like Cheap Fast Good, it will be another favorite.
