What are you serving for the Super Bowl and where will you watch?

I’m not much a of a football fan, never really have been. But when my kids were at home, we’d make a big deal about the Super Bowl, if for no other reason than to watch the commercials and eat in front of the TV.

This year I was so disconnected, I didn’t know who was in the playoffs until a couple weeks ago when I was at the Harry Connick Jr. concert in Palm Springs and he referred to his Saints, asking the entire crowd to pull for them.

Fine by me. If Harry likes them, then I know I will. Low and behold they won the playoff game and are in the Super Bowl now. So guess who I’m pulling for? You got it…the Saints, anything for Harry, after all.

So whether I have a few friends over or take up one of the invites I’ve received, I know what I’m cooking: Our Chili Stuffed Potato Skins and Roasted Garlic Artichoke Dip because they both travel and reheat well or are easy to prepare ahead if guests arrive here.

What are you serving for the Super Bowl? And please tell us which team you are pulling for and why!

Guacamole is a definite at my house, and probably meatballs slow-cooked in pizza sauce. Used to always do chicken quesadillas, too…..

Well, y’all know I"m fond of wings… But I’m going with a New Orleans theme this year. I just found andouille in Raleigh (not easy) and will be making shrimp gumbo. Come on over, ladies!

OK, so I’m here in Miami and it’s Super Bowl Sunday and the fever pitch couldn’t be higher! Last night we saw Saints fans strolling on the sidewalk in full costume and painted faces and it wasn’t even game day yet.

Traffic is at a complete standstill on I-95, and the 75,000 folks with tickets will have to undergo a security check worthy of Fort Knox to get into the stadium.

Went to the supermarket yesterday and I’ve got my meatballs, shrimp, avocados for guacamole, fresh tomato salsa and makings for jalapeno corn dip and tacos!

My parents are visiting from North Carolina and we all can’t wait for the Budweiser commercials to start! Who is it that New Orleans is playing again??

Way to Go Saints!!!!
